NTPC's September Quarter Net Profit Sees Year-On-Year Fall


State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation recorded a 8.3 per cent fall in its second quarter net profit on a standalone basis, as it stood at ₹ 3,211 crore in the period ending September 30, 2021 of the current fiscal. The power major had recorded a net profit of ₹ 3,504 crore in the second quarter of 2020-21.

However the company witnessed a rise in its total income during the second quarter of the current financial year on a standalone basis, which was ₹ 29,273 crore.

The total income of the power company was ₹ 26,023 crore during the corresponding period of last year.

NTPC's profit after tax on a standalone basis for the first half of the current fiscal too was up by 6.4 per cent as it stood at ₹ 6,357 crore as against ₹ 5,974 crore recorded in the first half of 2020-21.

Its gross power generation rose to 74.81 billion units (BU) in the quarter under review from 67.67 BU in the year-ago period.


Stock Outlook

Long term still strong and hold. In shrt term is weak and cab test 125.
